Gloria Govan on the set of "Clean Ops"
Basketball Wives LA star Gloria Govan is still on her mission to break into acting, and it looks like she has gotten her first serious break. Gloria is set to star in the upcoming short film series “Clean Ops” expected to premier this winter.
“Clean Ops” is a short film series about an agency that trains inner city kids in the performing arts and in the art of being an assassin. In the vein of “X-Men” meets “The Professional,” the first installment, titled “The Chronicles of V,” stars Gloria Govan as a trained ballerina by day and an assassin by night who gets her assignments from a mysterious figure only known as Mr. Drop. The series is being developed into a comic book franchise, feature film, mobile game and television series. – Bossip
If this goes well, Gloria could have found a new career path. I never thought that I could say this, but I can actually see Gloria as a serious actress.
Since Basketball Wives was the catalyst for her career, I hope that she’s gracious to her boyfriend/ex-fiancee/baby daddy Matt Barnes. More than any other reality TV show, the Basketball Wives starlets in general would love to have us believe that their independent success is because of their hard work and efforts. Truth of the matter is that the basketball boyfriend/baby daddy/husbands work on or off the court is the only reason they reached this pivotal point in their lives. Let’s be real, if Gloria wasn’t Matt Barnes baby mama she would have never been invited to appear on Basketball Wives. If she had never appeared on Basketball Wives, she wouldn’t be relevant enough to get acting jobs. Had she dated some regular Joe Smoe, she would probably be working at Payless as an Assistant Manager. I hope Gloria takes advantage of this opportunity and finds a way to make a career out of this.
